One comment to “Precious Keepsake or Needless Risk? Ultrasound Businesses Peddle Fetal Photos to Anxious Parents”

The safety of prenatal ultrasound has never been established. There is a lot of evidence that points to it causing neurological changes.

What is needed is an epidemiological study comparing the health profiles of children who were not scanned to the general population. The problem, of course, is that there are few such children. If physicians and the public realized how little is known about the safety of prenatal scans, we would soon have that unscanned group for the study.
