Pfizer Recalls Antibiotics, Anti-Nausea Drug

Pfizer Inc. is recalling anti-nausea medication and two intravenous drugs that were tainted at the plant where they were manufactured.

The anti-nausea drug Ondansetron is used to treat patients undergoing surgery or chemotherapy. The IV drugs Metronidazole and Ciprofloxacin are antibiotics. All three products are packaged in plastic IV bags.

The company warns that the tainted drugs could cause infections, which might be fatal for patients with weak immune systems.

Pfizer has not yet received any customer complaints, and the company says that they have 80 percent of the tainted drugs in their control.

The drugs were manufactured by Claris Lifesciences and distributed in the United States by Pfizer.
