Chrysler Recalls 600,000 Jeep Wranglers, Minivans Over Safety Issues

Wiring and brake problems in minivans and Jeep Wranglers have prompted Chrysler to recall nearly 600,000 vehicles.

In a report on its website, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that Chrysler is recalling more than 28,000 Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Caravan vehicles (2008-2009 model years) because some of the models have improper wiring that could lead to a fire.

The company is also recalling more than 28,000 Jeep Wranglers (2006-2010 model years) because contact between fenders and brake tubes could cause partial loss of breaks.

Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will repair the vehicles free of charge, according to the agency’s online report.

The problems have not caused any accidents or injuries, AP reports.
