Wireless and mobile device companies should be afraid — very afraid — of Oprah Winfrey, Ray LaHood and rising public concern over driver distraction. An internal memo by Washington lobbyists calls for a broad industry coalition to push education as an alternative to stiffer controls on using cell phones and other devices behind the wheel.

VA Hospital Warns Veterans of HIV, Hepatitis Exposure

A VA hospital in St. Louis may have exposed more than 1,800 veterans to diseases including HIV and hepatitis. The John Cochran VA Medical Center sent letters to 1,812 patients explaining that they were at risk for contracting hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV because dental technicians had improperly cleaned their instruments.
