NHTSA Investigates Sticky Pedal Problems in Dodge Caliber

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating sticky accelerator problems in the 2007 Dodge Caliber. There have been five complaints and no reported accidents or injuries. The Caliber uses gas pedals made by CTS Corp. of Elkhart, Ind., the same company that makes the pedals included in Toyota’s massive recalls over sudden acceleration, the Associated Press reports.

According to Chrysler, the vehicles are equipped with a safety feature that cuts power to the engine if the accelerator and brake are pressed at the same time.
