32 Safety and Health Violations Found at Minneapolis VA Medical Center

Federal workplace safety officials found 32 serious violations at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Violations included electrical hazards, improper storage of fuel and oxygen, and failure to comply with requirements for controlling bloodborne pathogens. No fines accompany the violations because the center is a federal employer. However, if assessed, they would total $171,000, according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health  Administration.
