Consumer Reports Puts Three Strollers on ‘Don’t Buy’ List

Consumer Reports is urging consumers to avoid three strollers they’ve designated as a safety risk. The strollers — two all-terrain models made by Valco and a jogging stroller by Tike Tech — do not comply with current voluntary safety standards because they have a bar in front of the seat that does not allow children’s heads to pass through.

Both stroller manufacturers told Consumer Reports they had no reports of injuries associated with the strollers’ grab bars. From 1995 to 2008, the Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that 10 deaths occurred when infants’ heads became stuck under stroller grab bars.
